The Hard Truth Doesn’t Lie: What Happens When You Channel Under Pressure

September 18, 2026•5 min read

There’s a moment in business coaching that most coaches dread.

It’s not the bad review or the lost client. It’s the moment when you’ve said exactly what someone needed to hear, and they look right at you and say: you’re wrong.

Prophetess Amanda Kunkel has been there. She was deep in a channel for a client—delivering truth that wasn’t coming from Amanda the human being, but from something greater moving through her. The client didn’t like it. Not a little. She questioned Amanda’s connection, her abilities, her channel itself.

And in that moment, two words came through clearly: Stay. Stay.

So she did.

What It Means to Stay in the Channel

Amanda describes the channel as a space between her everyday self and the energy of God, universe, source. When she’s channeling, she’s not filtering. She’s not softening. She’s not performing. She’s relaying.

The moment a client pushed back, she felt herself beginning to slip. The Amanda who grew up in customer service, the one trained since sixteen to make sure everyone left happy, started to rise up. But the channel was steady: stay.

What followed wasn’t a fight. It wasn’t a lecture. It was what Amanda called "fierce loving guidance." The channel didn’t back off the message. It went deeper into the why behind it. And it held space for the client’s anger without becoming that anger.

This is one of the hardest things to do in any relationship, professional or otherwise: stay present in truth when someone you care about is in pain because of it.

The Fire That’s Burning You

The message that came through for the client was about fire.

She had fire in her. Real, powerful, necessary fire. But she’d been told her whole life that the fire was too much. Too angry. Too intense. So she buried it. And buried fire doesn’t disappear. It leaks.

Amanda used an analogy that I haven’t been able to stop thinking about since. When you boil water, there’s a rolling boil and a simmer boil. The rolling boil can overflow. It can ruin the food. But the simmer boil? That’s where the real cooking happens.

Her client needed to learn the simmer boil. To take the fire that had been labeled "too much" and channel it into her business with precision and intention. Not to suppress it. Not to explode with it. To use it.

What her clients and customers needed was more of that pedal-to-the-metal energy. But channeled. Purposeful. The fire was never the problem. The direction was.

The Middle Class Frequency: The Comfortable Ceiling

This is where Amanda said something that opened something up in me.

She talked about the middle class frequency. Not a socioeconomic statement. A consciousness one. It’s that zone where things feel okay. You’re keeping up. You’re not struggling. You don’t really have to worry. Life feels stable.

It is not, she said, your full potential.

She was driving through her hometown, an affluent college town where poverty is often invisible, and this concept dropped into her. The middle class frequency is comfort masquerading as contentment. It’s the cave.

And here’s the thing about the cave: it was safe. Our ancestors lived in caves because leaving meant saber-toothed tigers. Being kicked out of the group meant death. The fear of standing out, of going further, of being seen as "too much" or "different enough to exile" is written into our DNA.

Every woman Amanda’s worked with who wanted to go public with her intuitive gifts but was terrified her boss would find out and fire her? That’s the cave instinct. That’s the middle class frequency holding its shape.

The question isn’t whether the fear is real. It is. The question is whether you let it govern the size of your life.

Owning the Shadow

One of the most powerful things Amanda said in our conversation was about the shadow self.

We all have one. The parts of us we’ve been told are wrong, too much, or dangerous. For her client, it was the fire. For others, it’s ambition, or sensuality, or directness, or the gifts that don’t fit neatly into a job description.

Owning the shadow doesn’t mean becoming a bulldozer. It means knowing those parts exist, understanding what they’re communicating, and learning how to channel them in a way that serves your life and your work.

And sometimes, owning the shadow looks like what Amanda described in the hot seat: "When I think I’m being a bitch, I’m most likely still over giving."

She laughed when she said it. But it landed.

How many times have you toned yourself down not because you were actually out of line, but because you were afraid of what someone would think if you showed up fully?

Let People Be Wrong About You

This was the moment in our conversation that I’ve been sitting with the most.

Amanda talked about the judgment she’s faced throughout her career as a spiritual entrepreneur. Women who don’t understand what she does, who question whether it’s a "real profession," who wonder how she can sustain herself.

And what does she do? She doesn’t pull out her Fortune 500 credentials. She doesn’t explain herself. She says: okay. And moves on.

Let people be wrong about you.

You don’t need to fix every misconception. You don’t need everyone to understand. Some people’s permission is not required for your next level.

The Channel

Near the end of our episode, Amanda channeled live for our audience. I watched her shift. Her rhythm changed. Something in her settled.

Here is part of what came through:

“The world isn’t going to care about the fancy flashy gimmicks. It is going to feel your frequency from afar. The algorithm doesn’t matter when you are in your full inner God state. When you release that control in any spot of your life, that is where our forward movement is.”

Amanda Kunkel, Live Channel

I’ve heard a lot of things in my career. That one found me somewhere specific.

Because it’s not about the strategy or the copy or the connections. It’s about whether you’re showing up as the fullest version of yourself or the safest one.

Amanda is offering a free God State Meditation to help you start connecting to your own inner guidance. You don’t need a channeler. You have everything you need inside you already. Find the link in the show notes.
